Paradise Elementary School Gifted and Talented


Criteria for G.A.T.E. Qualification:

Please see Paradise I.S.D. local board policy guidelines.

An initial assessment covering the areas of verbal, quantitative and nonverbal reasoning will be administered and a student must score a 95% or higher to continue with testing.

Data will be collected through both objective and subjective assessments. Assessment tools may include, but not limited to the following: achievement tests, intelligence tests, creativity tests, behavioral checklists completed by teachers and parents, etc.

Nomination Guidelines and Dates:

Nominations are open at any time during the school year and may be made by parents, family, teachers, faculty, community members and peers.

Testing Nomination Deadlines will be posted in August and February each year on the pisd.net website, local newspapers, school bulletins, newsletters, etc.

FALL TESTING: For students NEW TO THE DISTRICT in grades 1st-12th. Testing will begin mid late September and conclude late October.

SPRING TESTING: For students grades K-11th. Testing will begin late March and conclude by the end of the school year.
