PreAP English I and English I

I’m excited about the new year we are about to begin here at Paradise High School!  My name is Stephanie Hogan.  I teach PreAp English I and English I.  This will be  my 7th year at Paradise Independent School District.  I have thoroughly enjoyed it. 

I graduated from Holliday High School and truly appreciate the “small school” environment.  I believe that students gain so much more academically, physically, and socially when in a small school environment.  I later graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in English certifying me to teach 1st grade through 8th grade.  Seven years ago, I became certified to teach 9th-12th grade in addition to my previous certification and I’m loving it!!

I have taught public school for 11 years and private piano lessons for 12 years. Using this experience, I strive to help your child to gain skills that will enhance and prepare him for his adult life because focusing on just academics won’t work in order to make a well rounded young man or lady.  My goal is to help students take the academics they have learned and apply them to real life issues.
