Paradise One-Act Play Wins at District
The Paradise Junior High One Act Play team competed at the District 9-AAA contest on February 3. They performed exceptionally well and are District Champions! Here are the individual awards:
Best Actor honors went to Clayton Smith.
All-Star cast - Megan Cornett, Addy Ford and Candice Green.
Honorable Mention All-Star cast - Kennedy Schneck and Nelson Wylie.
Tech Award goes to Allyson Black.
Congratulations to the whole team and their director Ms. Harkins. The home performance will be Thursday, February 11 at 6:00 at the Paradise High School Cafetorium.

Students Raise Money for Diabetes Research
In honor of World Diabetes Day, students at PJH wore blue, the official color honoring this day. Sixth grader Kieran Hunter led the charge with idea to wear blue on Friday, November 13. November 14 is the actual day which is the birthday of the man who co-discovered insulin, Sir Frederick Banting. Banting discovered insulin in 1922, alongside Charles Best.
Students could also donate $1 to wear basketball shorts and/or caps and teachers could donate $1 and wear wind pants for the day. By the time the day was over, PJH students and staff raised about $100 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Staff Honors Mrs. Thomas
On September 5, the PJH staff surprised Mrs. Thomas with a cake and a dance in anticipation of her last treatment.
PJH Backs the Blue
At the September 25 Pep Rally, a group of PJH students presented a token of appreciation to Wise County Deputy Justin Hunter. The students also read a statement on behalf of Paradise Junior High.
PJH Brings on the Super Fans
At the home games with Alvord on September 24, a group of students showed up loud and proud for the game.

On September 11, students at Paradise Junior High observed the lowering of the flag at the end of the day.
