Drinking Age vs Voting Age

In 1984 the United States put in place the Uniform Drinking Age Act because of a study about teenage driving accidents when the drinking age was lowered to 18, 19, & 20 depending on the state. But why do we still have so many deaths now because of underage drinking? Because kids think it would be cool to get alcohol & drink just because they know they shouldn’t. 9 times out of 10 kids only think something is cool if they aren't allowed to do it. So what if we had a lower drinking age? Well it’s not off limits now so why would kids want to do it? Another point- If people don’t think that kids are responsible enough to drink @ 18, why let them vote @ 18? There are thousands of teenagers out there who know nothing about politics or what’s important because they are easily influenced by what everyone else has to say. So why let them help decide our government? Because some of them do care & can get more people together with a cause like recycling or clean-ups than most adults. So if the government is going to give one privilege why not both? Punish those who can't handle it. But give those who can a little freedom. 18 makes us adults. Let us act like it.
