PHS Student Wins Honor

Sophomore Cyle Cox won Champion Senior Jersey Cow and Grand Champion Jersey in the Open Show at the Fort Worth Stock Show on Monday. He will be showing in the Junior Jersey Show on Tuesday.

Livestock Judging Teams Do Well

FORT WORTH-The Paradise FFA Livestock Judging Teams competed in Fort Worth on January 14 and the results were very good. Here is how our students did:

3rd Place Team Overall: Wesley Meadows – 3rd high individual overall
Dalton Meadows – 17th high individual overall

Austin Hogan – 20th high individual overall

There were 44 Teams competing approximately 150 contestants total. The show gave awards to the top 3 teams and the top 6 individuals.

Students Win Awards at Banquet

PARADISE-The district FFA banquet was held in Paradise on December 5 and several Paradise FFA students won awards at the event. Thanks to Mr. Bradshaw for the photo.

Students Compete at Area

Paradise advanced 6 teams to the Area round of competition on November 17. The top two in each division advance to state and the top five receive area banners there were 14 teams that advanced to area in each competition. Here is how our students did:

  • Junior Creed Speaker: Cala Holder, 5th Place, Banner winner.
  • Senior Creed Speaker: Ashley Pearson, 10th Place.
  • Junior Skills: Caiden Berry, Shelby Boyers, Dillon Meadows, 5th Place, Banner winner.

  • Senior Quiz: Kale Johnson, Jennifer Welch, Taylor Rector, Jordan Carter, 4th Place, Banner winner.

    GAINESVILLE-PHS sent 35 students to the District I Leadership Development Event at NCTC and a large number of these students advanced to area. Here is a run-down of how our students did:

    DALLAS-Paradise FFA Competed Sunday, October 16 at the State Fair of Texas against 98 other Teams from across the state. The results are as follows:

    Paradise FFA Team #1 – 9th overall, 6th in Cattle, 13th in Questions, 7th in Sheep and 17th in Swine. Team Members were:

  • Taylor Rector –score 461, 6th overall, 8th in Cattle, 19th in Questions, 34th in Sheep and 36th in Swine.
  • Cala Holder –score 443, 49th overall, 6th in Cattle
  • Shelby Bradshaw –score 440, 66th overall, 17th in Sheep
  • Dalton Meadows – Score 410, 169th overall
  • Paradise FFA Team #2 – 62nd overall, 53rd in cattle, 66th in Questions, 64th in sheep and 66th in swine. Team Members were:

  • Aaron Wellborn –score 443, 51st overall, 66th in Swine
  • Wesley Meadows – score 386, 218th overall
  • Austin Hogan – score 357, 283rd overall

    The Paradise FFA chapter recognized numerous members and volunteers May 10 at the annual FFA Banquet that was sponsored by the Paradise Ag Supporters and Wise County Electric Coop. The new officers were announced for the 2011-2012 school year:
