Free Speech Scholarship – Top Prize is $10,000. For juniors and seniors. Students must submit an essay on the provided topic. Details online. Deadline December 31, 2017.

Profile in Courage Essay Contest – First prize $10,000. Enter online. Deadline January 4, 2018.

The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship - One $1,000 scholarship. Offered to students entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Apply online. Deadline January 29, 2018.

Texas Student Housing Scholarship – More than $403,600 awarded last year. For the full or partial cost of an off-campus room. Open to students accepted to colleges in Austin, College Station or Denton. Application form. Deadline January 31, 2018.

Parentinn's Scholarship - $1,250.00 The "Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship". Application form and instructions. Deadline February 28, 2018.

Central Intelligence Agency Undergraduate Scholarship Program – If selected, you will be given an annual salary; a benefits package, and up to $18,000 per calendar year for tuition, mandatory fees, books and supplies. Students participating in this program complete work sessions during each summer break, increasing your knowledge and job responsibilities while assisting intelligence professionals and applying your academic skills. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program - Honoring the legacy of President Ronald Reagan, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Hazlewood Act (Texas Veterans Commission) - The Hazlewood Act provides qualified Veterans, spouses, and children with an education benefit of up to 150 hours of tuition and fee exemptions at state supported colleges or universities.

"Just Poetry" scholarships - The Easterday Poetry Award of a $500.00 college scholarship will be awarded to the American High School Poets "Poet of the Year". In addition there will be 4 "Best of Issue" Winners ($500 scholarship prize, 1 selected each quarter) and 4 Editor's Choice Selections ($100 scholarship prize, 1 selected each quarter). There will also be hundreds of "JUST POETRY" and Topical Winners. Four deadlines per year. Apply online.

McKnight Scholarship at Oklahoma State University – A full tuition waiver for all four years, plus $5000 for each of the first two years at OSU. FFA, 4-H, and American Quarter Horse Youth Assoc. Society of Petroleum Engineers Scholarships – Several scholarships for Petroleum Engineering students are listed at their website.

Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program – Up to $10,000. Requires that student be enrolled in an ROTC program at college. Purpose: To encourage students to become members of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, U.S. Coast Guard or U.S. Merchant Marine. Texas Department of Transportation Conditional Grant Program. The Conditional Grant Program is available to eligible students pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a department approved operational business discipline.

Texas Interscholastic League Foundation Scholarships – Applicants must be participants in the UIL Academic State Meet, or an Outstanding TSSEC Soloist. Application online. Deadlines vary and may be found on the website

Universal Technical Institute – Check out this page to find a long list of scholarships available for students who want to prepare for a career in one of these fields: automotive, collision repair, diesel, marine, motorcycle, NASCAR, CNC machining, and welding. Application online. Deadlines vary for each scholarship.

Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest - $1,000 awarded every month. Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt.

Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. Interested students can enter online.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund - www.hsf.net has links to several scholarships for graduating high school seniors. Once you begin filling out the online application, the site automatically tells you which scholarship programs you qualify for. A list of HSF scholarships is also available in the scholarship drawer in the Counselor's Office.
