SAMMY 2010 Award Program - "Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year" - 25 scholarships valued at $7,500 each. Juding based on academic performance (35%); athletic excellence (35%); leadership (15%); community service (10%); and milk experience (5%). Must apply online at www.bodybymilk.com.

Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program - Up to $10,000 for the freshman year, with additional funds available for each year of college. For academically strong students who want to participate in a Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program at a civilian college. Requires additional commitments to a branch of the armed services. Desk and Derrick Scholarship - Offered to Wise County high school seniors interested in pursuing careers in the petroleum, natural gas or energy industry. Scholarship valued at up to $2,000. Application available in Counselor's office.

The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship - Scholarships valued up to $1,500. Awards based on ACT or SAT, class rank, and GPA. Application available at www.collegeforalltexans.com. Additional information available in the Counselor's office.

Fort Worth Scottish Rite Foundation - Merit-based scholarships valued at $1,000. Merit determined by review of SAT/ACT scores and high school transcript. Application available at www.fortworthscottishrite.org. or in the Counselor's office.

Dick Mitchell Memorial Scholarship - $1,000. Applicant must be the son or daughter of a current Texas Farm Bureau member and must have completed the Texas Farm Bureau Youth Leadership Conference. Application available at www.txfb.org and in the Counselor's office.

Young Farmer and Rancher Scholarship - $1,000. For students who intend to pursue a career in agriculture. Must be a member of a Farm Bureau family. Application available online at www.txfb.org and in the Counselor's office.

Texas Farm Bureau Agriculture Scholarship - Two scholarships will be awarded to a student whose parents have been members of Texas Farm Bureau since at least March 14, 2008. Award based on grades/GPA, standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, family financial need and potential to succeed to post secondary educational goals. Texas Trial Lawyers Assoc. Scholarship - For students in any field of study. Need-based scholarships valued at $1,000 to be awarded to high school seniors statewide who may not be able to obtain financial aid through traditional sources. Application online at www.ttla.com. Wise Regional Health System Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship - Ten one-time scholarships of $1,000 each. Must have a 3.0 gpa and pursue a career in the Health Care field. Applications available in the Counselor's office.

The Goss-Michael Foundation Scholarship - $5,000 one-time merit-based scholarship. For students planning to major in Fine Art. Application available in Counselor's office.

Region XI School Employees Blood Bank Scholarship - Four $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing an education in a Health Care Field. Application available in the Counselor's office.

Ozarka "Every Drop Counts" scholarship - Two scholarships worth $10,000 each. For students who will pursue a degree in the field of geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental law, environmental education, forestry, oceanography or ecology. Application available in the Counselor's office.

North Texas Community Hospital of Bridgeport Volunteer Auxiliary Scholarship - $750.00 for students pursuing a Health Care career. This includes (but is not limited to) laboratory technician, social work, hospital administration, physican or nurse. Application available in Counselor's office.

Cross Timbers A&M Club - $500 scholarship for students attending Texas A&M. Based on financial need; involvement in school, work and community; and academic accomplishment. Application available in the Counselor's office.

Wise Electric Cooperative - Eight $1,000 scholarshps to be awarded to students whose parents or guardians are members of the cooperative. Application form available in Counselor's office.

Texas Department of Transportation Conditional Grant Program

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund - www.hsf.net has links to several scholarships for graduating high school seniors. Once you begin filling out the online application, the site automatically tells you which scholarship programs you qualify for. A list of HSF scholarships is also available in the scholarship drawer in the Counselor's Office. Each scholarship has a different deadline, but the first deadline is December 15, and applications should be submitted as soon as possible.

The Texas Lyceum Leadership Award 2010 - Five (5) $2,000 scholarships to entering freshmen at accredited Texas colleges and universities. The Texas Lyceum's goal is to "assist motivated Texas students, exhibiting leadership qualities, to attain their goals through higher education." Application available in Counselor's office.
