The Paradise Panthers Beat the Cisco Lobos for the Bi District Championship. The
Paradise Panthers won a 27-24 Heartbreaker game. The Panthers were
down 13 to nothing in the first qauter. Paradise came back to a one
point game. At halftime Paradise was down 16-14. The first drive after
halftime the Panther went ahead to a 21-16 lead. Before the third quarter
was over the Lobos had scored again on Paradise. The Lobos with the lead
entering the 4th quarter. The two defenses fought hard to hold each other.
Then the Cisco Lobos drove down the field and scored, giving the Lobos a
24-21 lead, but Paradise didn't give up. The Panthers came back with a big
play from Sophmore, Justin Bridges. This big play lead to a score for the
Panthers by Cody McKenzie, who had three of the four touchdowns for the
Panthers. Matt Davis then missed his first extra point of the night. The
Panthers kicked off with 18 seconds left in the game. The Lobos had a
good return that put them on about their own 45yard line. They then threw
two completions which put them in field goal range. With no time left on the
clock the Lobos kicker missed it by about six inches, which cost them the game.
A 27-24 Victory for the Paradise Panthers and a Bi District Championship.

Paradise then went to Burleson to play the Crawford Pirates. The Pirates were
27-0 since last year. Paradise played great. The Panthers were up the whole
first half. 7-0 when they went in at half-time. The Panthers defense shut down
all the pirates had. Their run game, their pass game. The Pirates had nothing.
The Panthers fumbled it on about the 10 on the first kick off of the half and
the pirates recovered and then would have scored if they would not have fumbled
it in the endzone. The panthers recovered and scored again to make it 14-0. On
the pirates next drive they scored 14-7.The panthers then went to punt the ball
in which the pirates scored on that possesion, making it 14-14. With 30 seconds
left coach Neighbors decided to run the clock off. We went into sudden death over
time. The pirates scored first and the panthers came out and on fourth down and one
coach ran a quarter back draw and Josh Erwin got sacked in the backfield. and we lost
21-14 in overtime.
