Panthers Make Good Showing at Regionals

STEPHENVILLE-Over the weekend the boys track team represented PISD at the Regional Track Meet.

Keaton Hickman competed in the high jump.

Josh McDowell and Nathan Lamb competed in the long jump.

Nathan Lamb competed in the triple jump.

Chase Reynolds ran his fastest time in the 100 since March and competed in the 200.

The 4 x 200 relay (Drake Trachta, Chris Lowery, Josh McDowell, Kale Johnson) ran their fastest time of the year.

Robert Norvell (on a bum leg) missed the finals in the 400 by 3 100ths of a second.

Alejandro Lopez did a GREAT job in the pole vault.

Cody Carmichael was 4th in the 110 hurdles, just missing third place and a medal.

Regional Qualifiers Prepare for Big Meet

On April 19 a group of students traveled to Lindsay and participated in their regional qualifiers meet. Athletes attending included the following:

    Several Panthers Qualify for Regionals

    JACKSBORO-On Thursday night the District 10-AA track meet was held at Jacksboro and several Paradise athletes advanced to the Regional meet. We have results of the meet here:

    Varsity Boys

    The following are Regional qualifiers:

  • Keaton Hickman – High Jump (First place)
  • Alejandro Lopez – Pole Vault (Second place)
  • Cody Carmichael - 110 Hurdles (First place)
  • Robert Norvell - 400 Meters (third place)
  • Chase Reynolds - 100 M (first place), 200 M (third place), 2 X 200 relay (third place)

    The Varsity Girls scored 96 points (increase of 36 from last year) ending up 4th.

    The JV girls won the meet with 182 points.

    The boys JV track team won the district meet last night – 218 points to 2nd place Godley’s 140:

  • Zach Fletcher – tied for second in the High Jump – got 3rd on misses, 3rd in 300 hurdles
  • Calahan Storey - tied for 1st in Pole Vault, 2nd in 4 x 200, 2nd in the 4 x 400
  • Zildjan Brooks - Tied for 1st in the pole vault
  • Chris Hill - 1st in Long Jump, 3rd in triple jump, 2nd in 4 x 100, 2nd in 4 x 200
  • Blake Bryant - 4th in long jump, 2nd in the triple jump

    • PHS Student Runs in Texas Relays

    Paradise Senior Chase Reynolds competed at the Texas Relays in Austin on March 30. Reynolds, who recently broke a 38 year-old school record in the 100 meter dash, ran in this event against the State's best sprinters.

    Good Weather for Panther Relays

    PARADISE-On March 1 the Paradise track meet was held and several of our athletes won medals and ribbons. The Varsity and JV Boys teams both won first place.
